Compositions

Each 100ml PhosCal M.D contains:

1- Calcium Gluconate                       16.8 g

2- Calcium Hypophosphate                3.9 g

3- Magnesium Chloride                      4.6 g

4- Dextrose                                          15 g

 

Product description

PhosCal M.D is the trade name of a sterile injectable solution, it contains (Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphate, Dextrose) as active ingredients for treatment of Calcium, Mg, Phosphate and glucose deficiency or to assist serving the maintenance of Ca, Mg, phosphate and glucose in normal blood tissue

 

Indications

– PhosCal M.G aids in prevention and treatment of cases associated with Calcium, Mg, Phosphate, glucose

  deficiency as :

* Hypocalcemia (Parturient paresis, Milk fever)

* Hypomagnesemia, Hypophosphate

* Decrease of glucose in blood and increase of ketone body in blood (ketosis)

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in cases of Metabolism Disorder

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in cases of Tetanus

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in some conditions especially after delivery or during Pregnancy

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in cases of Acidosis and Tympany

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in cases of poor fertilization

– PhosCal M.G is indicated in cases of Lameness

 

Dosage

 Slowly S\c or IV injection only, warm the drug before use

– Cattle: 0.5-1 ml\1kg b.w

– Sheep,Swine: 0.5-1 ml\1kg b.w

 

Contraindications

Not to be used in cases of hypersensitivity to any component of that drug

– PhosCal is contraindicated in these cases (Ventricular fibrillation, Renal Calculi, Hypercalcemia, Renal or Cardiac insufficiency)

– Don’t administer with Tetracycline (You can Administer Tetracycline after 3 hours or more after treatment with PhosCal)

 Drug Interactions

  – Avoid giving PhosCal with IV fat emulsions, Amphotericin B, Cefamandole & Cephalothin

  – Avoid giving PhosCal with Dobutamine, Methylprednisolone Sodium Succinate & Prednisolone phosphate

  – Avoid giving PhosCal with Metoclopramide, Phenylbutazone & Sulfonamides

  – Avoid giving PhosCal with Sodium bicarbonate

 

Side Effects

 Rapid IV injection may lead to cardiac Arrhythmias then shock and death

Glass vial of 50ml, 100ml, plastic bottle of 500ml

Keep in cool (under 25 C) & dark place away from sunrays and the reach of children
