Cephex 15% is the trade name of a sterile injectable solution, it contains the antibiotic Cephalexin M.H to resist and to get rid of the infectious gram+ve and gram-ve bacteria
Indications
– Cephex is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections (as CRD, Bronchitis, Bronchopneumonia, Pneumonia, Sinusitis) that are caused by the sensitive bacteria to Cephalexin Monohydrate (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pasteurella, E.coli, Klebsiella) in cattle, sheep, goat, horse, cats and dogs
– Cephex is indicated for the treatment of Mastitis
– Cephex is indicated for the treatment of Metritis
– Cephex is indicated for the treatment of Foot rot & Interdigital Dermatitis
– Cephex is indicated for the treatment of Shipping fever
– Cephex is indicated for treatment of lameness
Dosage
IM injection
– Cattle,Sheep,Goat,Horse: 1-2 ml\20kg b.w
– Cats,Dogs: 1ml\20kg b.w
Contraindications
– Not to be used in cases of hypersensitivity to Cephalexin M.H
– Not to be used in animals that have renal insufficiency
Drug Interactions
– Avoid giving Cephex with Tetracyclines, Chloramphenicol, Macrolides and Lincosamides.
Side effects
– It may cause diarrhea
– It may case rash at the injection site
– It may cause occasional local tissue reaction may result during treatment
