Composition
Each 1ml Sefaril 10% contains 100mg of Levamisole (as HCL)
Product description
Sefaril is the trade name of sterile injectable solution ready to use, it contains the Anthelmintic Levamisole Hcl as active ingredient to get rid of internal parasites (gastrointestinal worms, lung worms) in cattle, sheep, goat and camels
Indications
– Sefaril kills:
1- Adult and immature gastrointestinal round worms (as Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum, Nematodirus)
2- Lung round worms (as Dictyocaulus)
3- Eye worms, warble larvae (as Hypoderma)
Dosage
S\c injection only
– Cattle,Sheep,Camel : 0.5-1 ml\25kg b.w
– Goat: 0.5 ml\25kg b.w
repeat after 2 weeks with the same dose.
Notes
– We advise to give that drug in early morning in cold day
– Atropine is the antidote of Levamisole
Contraindications
– Not to be used in cases of hypersensitivity to Levamisole
– Not to be used in animals that have renal or hepatic insufficiency
Drug Interactions
– Avoid giving Sefaril with Pyrantel, Diethylcarbamazine & Organophosphate drugs. Because they may enhance the toxic effects of Levamisole
Side effects
– It may cause pain and irritation at the injection site
– High doses may cause diarrhea, anorexia, salivation
– It may cause coughing (for 15-30 minutes) after treatment, because adult worms are expelled from the bronchi
