Each 1ml Sensizal 2% contains 20mg of Diphenhydramine (as HCL)
Product description
Sensizal 2% is the trade name of a sterile injectable solution, it contains the Diphenhydramine HCL as active ingredient which is an effective Anticholinergic, antihistamine, antiemetic and antispasmodic
Indications
– Sensizal is indicated for treatment of Allergic reactions:-
* Allergic reactions to drugs and different compounds
* Contact Dermatitis
* Inhalation Dermatitis
* Respiratory Hypersensitivity
* Sneezing Bounced Syndrome
* Rash
* Vomiting
* Urticaria
– Aids in the treatment of poisoning as:
* Organophosphate Toxicity
* Carbamate Toxixity
Dosage
IM or IV injection
– Large animals: 2.5–5.5 ml\100kg b.w
– Small animals: 1-2 ml\10kg b.w
Contraindications
– Not to be used in cases of hypersensitivity to Diphenhydramine HCl
– Contraindicated in these cases:
* Cardiovascular diseases or Heart Failure
* Hypothyroidism
* Angle closure glaucoma
* Pyelo-duodenal obstruction
* Urinary Obstruction
* Hypertrophy of Prostate
* Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Drug Interactions
– Sensizal may enhance the effect of Epinephrine
– Sensizal may enhance the effects of Anticoagulant drugs “Heparin” & “Warfarin”
– Sensizal may have an addictive effect when combined with other CNS depressant drugs
Side effects
– Sedation
– Dry mouth
– May cause urinary retention
– Overdose may lead to “Respiratory inhibition” & “stimulation or inhibition of Central Nervous System”
