Each 100ml Brimoxan contains:
– Suldadimethoxine sodium 20 gm
– Trimethoprim 4 gm
Product description
Brimoxan is the trade name of sterile injectable solution ready to use, it contains Sulfadimethoxine sodium and Trimethoprim to resist and to get rid of the infectious gram+ve and gram-ve bacteria, and aids in the treatment of coccidiosis that are caused by Eimeria
Indication
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal (as Bacterial diarrhea, Enteritis) and respiratory tract infections (as CRD, Bronchitis, Bronchopneumonia, Pneumonia, Sinusitis) that are caused by the sensitive bacteria to Sulfadimethoxine sodium and Trimethoprim (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Pasteurella, E.coli, Proteus, Klebsiella, Bordetella) in cattle, sheep, goat, horses and rabbits
– Brimoxan aids in the treatment of coccidiosis that are caused by Eimeria in animals
– Brimoxan aids in the treatment of Toxoplasma that may cause abortion
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of Foot rot & Interdigital Dermatitis
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of Mastits
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of eyes,ear & mouth
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of Urogenital tract infections (as Metritis, Cystits, Vaginitis)
– Brimoxan is indicated for the treatment of Septicemia
Dosage
– Cattle,sheep,goat: 1-2 ml\15kg b.w for 4-5 days (IM or IV)
– Horses: 1ml\16kg b.w (IV)
Contraindications
– Not to be used in cases of hypersensitivity to Sulfadimethoxine sodium or Trimethoprim
– Not to be used in animals that have hepatic or renal insufficiency
– Not to be used in animal that have Blood Dyscrasias
– Not to be used in animals that have Cardiac Arrhythmias
Drug Interaction
– Avoid giving Brimoxan with Antacids
– Avoid giving Brimoxan with Calcium
Adverse effect
– Long term treatment may cause kidney or hepatic failure
– May cause anaphylactic shock particularly after Intravenous injection
